Requirements for Truck Drivers in Arkansas

The Arkansas DMV administers the tests and requirements for obtaining a CDL in the state of Arkansas. As is true throughout the United States, you must be 18 years of age or older to obtain a CDL, and over 21 to be permitted to drive interstate routes. Class A, B, and C licenses are available, depending upon the size and type of vehicle you plan to drive. You will have to show proof of identity, residence, and a valid social security number. You will need to pass vision, written, and driving skills tests, and supply a Medical Examiner’s certificate. Of course, you will first obtain a permit, which will allow you to drive the vehicle you are qualifying to drive with a valid CDL holder in the cab with you.
