The unique setting provided by the state of Hawaii provides for some unique requirements. Unlike other states, Hawaii CDL requirements feature an age requirement of 21. Those under 18 are not allowed to apply for a CDL.

The actual Hawaii CDL requirements may change slightly based on the county that the license is applied for in. Hawaii licensing information can be found by contacting the exact county that you will be applying in. It is important to note that there is no need for interstate licensing, something that will ease the requirements and make the application process easier.

Those who pass the various tests required for Hawaii CDL requirements will find that their license is good for 6 years. At that point, licensees must look for Hawaii Re-licensing information and re-apply for their CDL license.
