Those who are looking to meet all Massachusetts CDL requirements must be 18 years of age or older in order to get a trucking job in MA. Those who are looking to move cargo across state lines must be 21 years of age or older. Both applicants must hold a valid driver’s license, and must have a clean driving record. Those who are interested in Massachusetts licensing information should know that they must also provide proof of citizenship and may have to provide proof of a recent and passed medical exam.

There are two different tests that must be completed by those looking to meet all Massachusetts CDL requirements. Those who are applying for the driver’s license must be able to pass the written test and the actual drivers test. Both tests challenge the education of the applicant, forcing them to show knowledge of driving skills and pre-ride inspection skills.  The written test covers specifics from the Massachusetts CDL Manual, which should be used to study for the test.

Massachusetts re-licensing information includes the need to renew your license every five years. Those who allow their CDL to expire may be expected to take their tests again. Renewal and relicensing must occur in person, and cannot be done online.
