Wyoming CDL requirements are much like the requirements of most other states, with a few different exceptions. Wyoming licensing information includes the age requirements for a CDL: individuals must be 18 years of age to hold a basic CDL. Those who wish to move across state lines and those who wish to pick up jobs that require the movement of hazardous materials must be 21 years of age or older.

Wyoming CDL requirements include a valid driver’s license from the state, and proof of a valid Social Security number. Applicants will go one step further, as they must pass a driving record check as well as the Commercial Driver License Information System test.

After passing the required medical physical exam, individuals will take the knowledge test and driving skills exam. The wirtten test covers knowledge in the Wyoming CDL Manual.  Those who wish to skip the physical may do so, but at a cost; those without a physical may only take trucking jobs that do not require driving outside of the state.

Wyoming re-licensing information states that individuals must renew their license every four years. Individuals who allow their license to expire may be subject to retesting.
