New CDL A Driver

Hi my name is Lewie,

Got my CDL A License back in March 2011 and I can't seem to find a decent job with my felony for murder that happened 20 years ago and the lack of experience hanging over my head. I did post this under the New Driver forum on here so you can check that out as well. It explains a little more.

I want to go back to the trucking industry

I would like to team with someone and get some more recent experience over the road. In just few hours, I will pick the skills back. Since, I love to drive trucks. For me only the real trucks work, with manual transmission, I never drove one with automatic transmission, I never will. Between, 1997-2002, I use to work as a trucker, but I got out of business at my family request, in 2002 I never renew my medical and I downgraded myself to class D. I got an offer from Sony to work as a technician in my field. That is the profession, I worked before. I took the offer, but soon after that I begin to miss my truck. I accepted the offer, because I got $18/ hour, that's why I quite trucking.
Recently, I decided that trucking industry still, have openings, so I said, why not? I went to the library and got 3 books about CDL, requirements. I've learned for over 3 weeks, and got tested online, every single day. I fail many times (online)I score around 80 %. I was mad at myself. Then I decided to learn more and more, so I did. I went to the MVD and, I got my CDL permit, on my own now.(July-2011) I did study very seriously about it. Its very important to have all those fresh in my head, and I must have done a good job, since I pass 100% on all the tests. General, Air Brakes ,and Combination. I want to add Tankers. (July-2011) I got the permit and the envelope from MVD. I am ready for road test, but I am thinking if it's not better to take advantage of this permit and team with someone who has a license. I can make some money this way and get that experience back, as it’s needed. I bet I can still drive, now, with no problems. Will you be able to help me to do this? I need a real person, who understands this, many are too narrow minded and ask to have recent experience, like that will prove something, or new students. I can prove anytime, that I know how to drive 18 wheels. That won’t change. If something needs to be done, I will, from the legal point of view, or for the insurance purposes. Somehow, it's got to be a way to do this.
The company will still make money out of this; I see it as an advantage to all of us. Lets face it and be honest about it. I 've been in this business before, that won’t change, so let's not make a big deal out of it, since it isn't. Once you learned that from your school, from the veterans who have over 1 milion miles under their belt, yes, you don't need some new, hired mickey mouses from human department to tell you, that you, don't meet the requirements. I don't need a Jerry mickey mouse, I need a real man, who will be able to meet me and trust me, at least 1%. Will I be able to find that manager, or will he find me first? So many people are out of work, and others are looking for work, what's up, America? I never use alcohol, so no DUI, no Felonies (yet, LOL) nothing on my record.
Will someone have the guts to offer me the chance to prove myself to the company that I will exceed their expectations? I need a real American, to say: yes!

Thank you.

Dan
