Robert E. Low started Prime in Urbana, Missouri in 1970 with one dump truck. Robert's vision of providing the ultimate in customer satisfaction enabled Prime to expand rapidly to become a $50 million operation by 1980, when the company relocated corporate headquarters to Springfield, Missouri. The early 80's ushered in an era of deregulation, a national economic slow-down and an unprecedented purge in the trucking industry.

Prime, though they downsized operations considerable, remained resolute and diligent in their efforts. As a result, the company focused primarily on those areas of expertise which had proven to be most profitable. Emphasis was placed initially on refrigerated business and later expanded to include flatbed and brokerage services. Cost controls, customer service enhancements and an aggressive effort to recruit the most qualified personnel in the industry enabled Prime to continue to prosper while providing superior and reliable transportation services.

Since 1986, Prime has experienced a steady growth in revenue every year. Prime's personnel, equipment and technology remains on the cutting edge of the transportation industry, and the company's growth remains steady and well managed. Prime continues to position itself to serve customers well into the new millennium.

All Driver Associates

• Major Medical, Pharmacy Card, Dental Insurance and Life Insurance are made available at reasonable rates to all Prime associates. Company drivers may choose to use a Cafeteria Plan for purchasing your insurance.

• Basic Life Insurance: $15,000 Natural Death / $30,000 Accidental Death Benefit: < 1 year service is $.82/wk, after 1 year service $.54/wk.

• "Prime Time Certified" (PTC) Award Program recognizes driver associates who achieve outstanding on-time performance. These PTC awards are earned on quarterly and yearly basis of continuous on-time performance. Awards include patches, belt buckles, shirts and sweaters. At the 2-year level, associates receive a gold ring with one diamond. With every additional year of continuous on-time service, a diamond is added to the ring.

• Safety Award Program recognized driver associates who operate without a preventable accident. Awards, which include exclusive pins, hats, patches and jackets, are given after 6 months, 1 year, and them every year thereafter.

• "Millionaires" Program recognizes driver associates who have driven at least one million miles without a preventable accident. Qualifying driver associates receive a prize package and a personalized plaque displayed prominently in Prime's hall of Fame located in the terminal. The "Gold Level", Prime's highest level of safety achievement, is awarded to those who have driven a million miles at Prime. The "Silver Level" is awarded to driver associates who have accumulated a million miles or more throughout their driving career at various carriers, including Prime.

• Driver Referral: Pay to active drivers for referral of other drivers. Earn money and free use of truck.
